Over the last 18 months Open Data Manchester has been conducting user needs research as part of the development of the Digital Solutions Hub for the Natural Environment Research Council. The project led by University of Manchester, aimed to understand the needs, challenges and barriers to the use of environmental data and the insights gained were drawn from in-person and online workshops delivered throughout the UK. Although the user research was conducted through the lens of environmental data reuse, the findings, archetypes and user journeys created should be relevant for anyone building data infrastructure that is to be used by a wide variety of people.
An online public event hosted by the University of Manchester on the 20th November 10.00-12.00 GMT that will introduce people to key aspects of this user research work. Register here
